Welcome to Brocades from the Heart
Each piece of hand embroidered work featured is a lifeline that is helping to tide ladies, from poor rural communities in East Asia, through particularly difficult times in their lives.
Through circumstances beyond their control, be it spousal abuse, disease and sickness, animal or crop failure, … these ladies have found themselves in dire financial situations and hardship, and are often struggling to put food on the table and children through school.
The support is meant to be temporary, lasting for periods of between 3 to 5 years or until the ladies reach more economically stable states, whichever comes first. Individuals are assessed on a case by case basis and the criteria for support adjusted accordingly.
Apart from costs of production, transportation, handling and distribution, all of the profit from the sale of each product is returned to feed the poor.
